VISION AND MISSION

Apart from seeking funds for university projects in line with Vision 2020, the NMMU Trust also fosters and maintains relationships with university alumni and donors for it is our vision to "secure the long-term financial health of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University".

BENEFITS OF THE TRUST

The Trust is registered as an independent charitable entity. It's also registered with SARS as a public benefit organisation (PBO). This means that in terms of the VAT Act, a donation received by the Trust will be exempt from VAT. A Section 18A certificate is given to an individual or organisation making such donation. 

Donations to the Trust also assist with a company's BEE rating as it is one of the factors considered when an organisation is rated for BEE purposes.
